8月6日，微软官方在Technet和MSDN放出了Windows 7 RTM (Release to Manufacturing) 的下载 （貌似在这之前，已经有中国牛人放出破解，pirate在release之前，这种事情真不多见，而且有相同的SHA1）。这次放出的是英文版，其它语言的要等到10月1日。
Kevin用了说很爽，安装只要20分钟。嗯，我可没时间没事就装系统玩，我关心的是现在用的USB驱动（自己写的）还能在Win7下跑吗？Kevin说好用，我也认为Win7应该比Vista好用，要不MS就太失败了，保不准儿大家以后都用Win7了，与其到那时候再抱佛脚，还不如现在就下手。
微软就是微软，行动迅速，7日下午，就把WDK更新到了Windows Driver Kit (WDK) 7.0.0，还等什么，赶快行动。
谷歌，越来越本地化了。
今天下午，在公司的时候，还能登录到中文的个性化首页。今天晚上回来重装了火狐，打开谷歌的主页，发现右上角没有了“登录”只剩下了“个性化首页”，以前就在左上方醒目位置的Gmail也不见了踪影，倒是多出来“问答”和“来吧”（在IE下可以看到，火狐下无法看到，后记：这个是好像火狐的问题，家里是3.5.1看不到，公司的3.0.3可以看到），一直是将登录后的个性化首页做主页，以前也没注意过，不知道是不是我火星了。但是想想，谷歌不至于把当初赖以起家的邮箱服务给停了吧！再想想，在中国这个童话般的国度，真的是没有什么不可能发生，况且谷歌一直是水土不服型的，为了本地化，削足适履也不是没有可能。最后点了下面的靠下方的Google.com in English，终于在左上方找到了“Gmail”，在右上角找到了“Log in”。登录后是英文，进入igoogle也是英文。

With Service Pack 3 for Windows XP just over the horizon, we’ve managed to get our hands on the internal schedule for the release of the highly anticipated update to the aging operating system. As you can see in the list below, most of the stages will occur before the end of the month, though forced automatic updates won’t land until June. This delay should give system administrators an ample amount of time to prepare for the upgrade or simply come up with an excuse for when things go awry.
- April 14, 2008: Support is available for the release version of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP
- April 21, 2008: Original Equipment Manufacturers, Volume License, Connect, and MSDN and TechNet subscribers
- April 29, 2008: Microsoft Update, Windows Update, Download Center
- June 10, 2008: Automatic Updates
Since the release of Windows Vista, Creative has promised their Sound Cards as being ‘Vista Ready’. Unfortunately, as many unlucky customers did discover, this is not true. What the users actually found were buggy, feature crippled drivers. Creative insisted that features such as Decoding of Dolby® Digital and DTS™ signals and DVD-Audio which worked fine in WinXP, would not work on Windows Vista. With Creative releasing less than one new driver a year, things seemed bleak. Fortunately, a talented user, Daniel_K, was recently able to ‘fix’ many of the drivers, enabling the incompatible features and also fixing many bugs. Just today Creative has decided to put a stop to this. They removed all links to his modified drivers, and banned several users who were posting links to the now banned drivers.
台湾有媒体说Nvidia公司对VIA Technologies很感兴趣，可能有三种合作方式：结成战略联盟、收购VIA旗下的x86分公司、或者干脆收购VIA。如果消息可靠的话，Intel、AMD、现在又一个Nvidia。又有好戏看了。
